Gir cows on an Indian farm at golden hour

Our Story

Real Food Needs No Shortcuts

We started Ojas because we believed that the food our grandparents ate — pure, traditional, and made with care — deserved to come back.

How It Started

Where It All Began

It started with a jar of ghee. Not the kind you find on supermarket shelves — the kind that fills the kitchen with a warm, nutty aroma the moment you open it. The kind our grandmothers made. We grew up with that ghee, and then one day, it was gone. Replaced by cream-separated shortcuts and refined oils dressed up in premium packaging.

We spent years searching for something that came close. We couldn't find it. So in 2023, we decided to make it ourselves — the right way. The Bilona way.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

To bring back the foods that nourished generations of Indians — made exactly as they were meant to be made. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just pure, honest nutrition sourced from the best farms in India.

Tradition First

Every product we make is rooted in ancient Indian food wisdom — Bilona churning, A2 milk, slow cooking.

Radical Transparency

FSSAI certified, lab tested, and every ingredient traceable back to its source. You deserve to know what you eat.

No Compromises

We will never take a shortcut to lower costs. If the traditional method takes longer, we take longer.

Built for India

Our products are designed for Indian kitchens, Indian bodies, and Indian taste — not imported wellness trends.

How We Make It

The Bilona Method

A 5,000-year-old process. Still the best way to make ghee.

01

A2 Gir Cow Milk

We source milk exclusively from indigenous Gir cows — known for their A2 beta-casein protein, which is gentler on digestion and richer in nutrition.

02

Culturing into Curd

The fresh milk is gently cultured overnight into thick, creamy curd — the foundation of true Bilona ghee.

03

Hand Churning

The curd is hand-churned using a traditional wooden bilona to separate pure white butter (makhan) from the buttermilk.

04

Slow Simmering

The butter is slowly simmered over a gentle flame until it transforms into golden, aromatic ghee — rich in vitamins, healthy fats, and flavour.

Made in Bengaluru, for India

Ojas is a small, passionate team based in Bengaluru. We work directly with farmers, test every batch ourselves, and pack every jar with the care it deserves. We are not a factory. We are food people who believe in doing things right.

Taste the Difference

Every jar of Ojas Bilona Ghee is a promise — pure, traditional, and made with intention.
